Abstract
Bradykinins are peptides generated in multiple disease settings, and they play key pathogenic roles in multiple organ systems, including the kidneys. Several independent studies in our laboratory have converged upon what happens to be a central pathogenic cascade in lupus, involving bradykinins and its receptors. In this proposal, we will evaluate the diagnostic and therapeutic potential of selected molecules from this molecular cascade in lupus nephritis.
