Krill oil concentrate helped to increase Omega-3 deficiency in people living with lupus, according to a report of the ORKIDS study recently published in Lupus Science and Medicine. Secondary findings among a small group of study participants people with more severe lupus suggest that krill oil concentrate may help improve disease activity, but investigators noted that further study is warranted.
The clinical research affiliate of the Lupus Research Alliance, Lupus Therapeutics, supported Aker Biomarine and AMPEL Biosolutions, on developing and conducting the ORKIDS study through the Lupus Clinical Investigators Network (LuCIN) it oversees.
