LRA Submits Comments to NIH to Include Lupus in upcoming Advancing NIH Research on the Health of Women Conference

November 1, 2021

The Lupus Research Alliance (LRA) responded to a Request for Information from the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) Office of Research on Women’s Health (ORWH) and the Advisory Committee on Research on Women’s Health (ACRWH) as they prepared for an October 2021 conference on advancing women’s health research. Our letter focused on the lack of safe and effective therapies and health disparities in lupus and the need for continued federal investment in lupus research and drug development. Read the letter here.

The conference was in answer to a directive to the NIH from Congress to evaluate current research on women’s health and to provide an update on priority area for additional study to advance women’s health research.
