We are excited to share good news – our Lupus Clinical Investigators Network, LuCIN, managed by LRA’s affiliate Lupus Therapeutics, will be working on a new research project to increase diverse representation of patients in lupus trials to be funded with a $500,000 National Institutes of Health Innovation Award from the Food and Drug Administration’s Office of Minority Health & Health Equity.

The project will be led by the award recipient Dr. Saira Sheikh, who serves as Vice-Chair of LuCIN as well as Director of the Clinical Trials Program at the University of North Carolina (UNC) Thurston Arthritis Research Center and the UNC Rheumatology Lupus Clinic. LRA and Lupus Therapeutics’ Director of Health Equity Ebony Scott will also serve on the Advisory Board of the project.

Together, ManyOne Can make a difference!
