ManyOne ARE Making the Difference
ManyOne ARE Making the Difference

May 1, 2023

Last year, the Lupus Research Alliance launched our ManyOne Can campaign during Lupus Awareness Month to offer opportunities to get involved in our efforts to transform lives of people with lupus.

This Lupus Awareness Month, we celebrate the great successes that are already being achieved and exciting ventures coming up that involve the lupus community – the people who battle the disease shoulder to shoulder with those from industry, government, researchers, and academia who are committed to accelerating lupus advances. We will be bringing you their stories of accomplishments in advocacy, research, fundraising and education.

Taking patient participation to an entirely new level, with our recent launch of the Lupus Accelerating Breakthroughs Consortium (www.LupusABC.org), for the first time people living with lupus will be at the table with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration along with biopharmaceutical industry and lupus researchers to  address barriers that continue to stifle the development of new lupus treatments.

Other major programs coming up will continue to ensure that the full diversity of all the populations affected by lupus is represented in every aspect of our initiatives, particularly research, aimed at improving the community’s care.

Today, we open Lupus Awareness Month with this inspiring video from Yvonne Sterling who fought courageously to regain the voice she lost to lupus and is now amplifying it to advocate, fundraise, educate, and participate in research.  Her amazing story speaks to the unique value of each of you.

I hope you join me in celebrating the tremendous progress that defines the 2023 Lupus Awareness Month. While there is more work ahead, we know ManyOne Can, and ARE making all the difference.
