The ALR Would Like to Welcome the NIH Back to Work

October 18, 2013

It’s great news that the government shutdown is over and all of the terrific staff at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) are back doing the critical work they do.  Everyone who is concerned with the health of Americans should be grateful to all of the people that work at the NIH.  They are the center of support for almost all biomedical research conducted in the United States.  The people who work there are dedicated, hardworking and essential.  Without them things would be far bleaker for the 1.5 million people in the U.S. living with lupus and the tens of millions of people who are afflicted with other diseases.

On behalf of the Alliance for Lupus Research staff and everyone affected by lupus, our thanks go out to the people who are employed at the NIH.  We’re glad you are back at work.
