GALA Celebration 2010

The ALR’s One Love. One Cause. Gala Celebration will take place on December 8th, at the NYC Mandarin Oriental Hotel. This year’s honoree will be Rupert Murdoch, Chairman and CEO of News Corporation. The Gala Chairs will be Chase Carey, President, COO, and Deputy Chairman, News Corporation; Robert Wood Johnson IV, Chairman and CEO, New York Jets; and Robert W. Pittman, Chairman and Founder, Pilot Group LLC.

The 2010 Gala will raise funds for the Alliance for Lupus Research and celebrate its role as the world’s largest private funder of scientific investigations into lupus.

New York Jets Score Touchdown for Lupus Awareness

The New York Jets scored big time in the fight against lupus — bringing a touchdown’s worth of attention to the disease on October 31, 2010, Lupus Awareness Day.

As fans entered the Meadowlands Stadium to watch the Jets battle the Green Bay Packers, ALR staff members and volunteers distributed purple Lupus Awareness Bracelets at the entrances and collected donations for the scientific fight against lupus.

“The Jets fans are always so generous in their support of the ALR — they add a lot of excitement to Lupus Awareness Day,” said Ken Farber, ALR’s Executive Director.
