Leading the way to a cure

Ride Against Lupus

Join former Kansas City Chief, Eddie Kennison, Gail’s Harley Davidson, Granfalloon Bar and Grill, and The Roasterie in the first annual Greater Kansas City Ride Against Lupus. On Saturday, August 23rd, motorcycle enthusiasts from across the area will come together to reach a common goal of bringing awareness to the thousands of area residents suffering from Lupus.

The First 50 people to register will receive an event t–shirt. Registration includes lunch. The ride will have an open leave schedule from 9am to 11am from Gail’s Harley Davidson. Non-riders can register and join us at Granfalloon Bar and Grill from 1pm to 3pm where registrants will enjoy lunch, entertainment, silent auction and drawings.

Lupus is an autoimmune disease where the immune system turns against parts of the body it is designed to protect. This leads to inflammation and damage to various body tissues. Lupus can affect many parts of the body, including the joints, skin, kidneys, heart, lungs, blood vessels, and brain. Although people with the disease may have many different symptoms, some of the most common ones include extreme fatigue, painful or swollen joints (arthritis), unexplained fever, skin rashes, and kidney problems. At present, there is no cure for Lupus.
