Team ALR participates in the New York Pass Chase for Charity

On Tuesday, October 28, 2008 Team ALR participated in the New York Pass Chase for Charity event which kicked off during the morning's Fox 5 Good Day New York broadcast. ALR New York City Walk with Us to Cure Lupus volunteers Judy Dronzek, Jason Negron and Matt Niskanen represented Team ALR and raced through all five New York City boroughs to increase awareness of lupus and raise funds for lupus research. Not the cold, wind nor rain could stop this fearsome group from completing their race tasks – the object was for each participating team to swipe the New York Pass card through as many attraction turnstiles in a 12 hour period – the team that saved the most money using the cards to be declared the race winner and runners up to be decided accordingly.

Although Team ALR did not finish the race in first place, we can all be proud of their efforts – a $500.00 donation to the ALR from New York Pass for our team’s race participation. This donation will go directly to support vital lupus research programs funded by the ALR! The Alliance for Lupus Research wishes to thank Judy, Jason and Matt for their efforts!
