Alliance for Lupus Research

The Alliance for Lupus Research welcomed the friendship and company of nearly 400 guests at this year’s One Love. One Cause. Gala Celebration on June 14 at The Pierre in New York City.

It was our pleasure and privilege to honor Sir Howard Stringer - Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sony Corporation and the Tammy and Ken Fisher Family. Their personal testimonies moved us all and were an inspiration and reminder that we must continue to drive the ALR mission - to prevent, treat and cure lupus through medical research. As there are currently 1.4 million Americans living with lupus and as of yet, no known cause or cure, nothing could be more urgent.

The evening was both special and significant - over $1 million was raised and will be applied to support the innovative and aggressive research programs of the ALR, furthering our quest for a cure. We are also proud to have had the well-wishes and support of Former President William J. Clinton, New Jersey Governor John Corzine and New York State Senator Jose M. Serrano.

Guests enjoyed the powerful tunes of the TKO Orchestra after viewing a special welcome message from Former President William J. Clinton. The evening closed with a dynamic performance by Academy Award Winner, Jennifer Hudson.

We express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to all who were able to attend, support and insure the great success of this year’s One Love. One Cause. Gala Celebration. The ALR also wishes to thank our outstanding Gala Chairs: Robert Wood Johnson, IV - Chairman and CEO of New York Jets LLC, Robert W. Pittman - Founding Member of Pilot Group LLC and Robert Wiesenthal - Executive Vice President and CFO of Sony Corporation.

The Pierre’s Grand Ballroom, both warm and vibrant set the stage for a spectacular dinner and inspirational program.

Guests dined and danced the night away to the powerful tunes of the TKO Orchestra.
