2007 New York Jets Kickoff Luncheon Benefiting the Alliance for Lupus Research and the New York Jets Foundation

On Wednesday, August 29, 2007, over 500 guests and J-E-T-S Jets! Jets! Jets! fans joined the New York Jets and the Alliance for Lupus Research (ALR) at this year’s New York Jets Kickoff Luncheon benefiting the ALR and the New York Jets Foundation. This year’s luncheon honoring John Adam Kanas, former President, CEO and Chairman of North Fork Bancorporation, Inc., was held at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City and raised over $800,000 for ALR-funded lupus research and the important community investments made by the New York Jets Foundation.

The ALR is grateful to have the New York Jets as a partner in the ALR quest for a cure. The New York Jets’ organization is deeply committed to supporting the Alliance for Lupus Research. The Jets have raised more than $5.5 million for lupus research through the ALR’s signature fundraising program - Walk with Us to Cure Lupus - and proceeds from the annual Jets Kickoff Luncheon.
